  • Locus of Shyish
  • Invigorating Aura
    • B-
      • Unit cannot benefit more that one time– no Locus
      • Only works on Summonable untis
  • Lore of Vampires
    • Blades of Shyish
      • C+
        • Nice on Combat Vampire Lord
        • But you need to get in close, and its only 1 MW on a 3+
      • Spirit Gale
        • B
          • Swingy and not consistent.
          • Average roll is 7
          • Average leadership in the game is 7 so low chance to do anything
          • But if you combo it with other bravery debuffs it could get a few wounds in.
      • Soulpike
        • B
          • Swingy
          • It’s a max 12 mw spell, but the odds are around 4 MW.
          • It could deter a charge on a low wound model however.
      • Amethystine Pinions
        • A-
          • 6” movement is always nice
          • Locus does not work on it! I miss the days of 12” extra move.
          • Small board in 3.0 means this is still very useful.
      • Vile Transference
        • F
          • On 20 wound enemy model you will get 1.5 wounds back
      • Amaranthine Orb
        • B+
          • Death not affected and requires 2+ then D3 rolls
          • Used to be 4+ =D6
          • Not the worst spell, if you are in a good position you could hit several units and its low casting cost.

 

 

  • Lore of the Deathmages
  • Overwhelming Dread
    • A+
      • -1 hit is Great
      • Locus lets you debuff mutiple units.
      • Last till your next hero phase.
    • Fading Vigour
      • A+
        • Great debuff
        • -1 attack of all the units Melee weapons
        • Locus will let you put it on 2 units.
      • Lore of the Deathmages
        • Spectral Grasp
          • B
            • Situational, but on some maps Very good
            • The terrain feature needs to be Wholly Within.
            • 0 has small board so could be easier to slow down units.
        • Prison of Grief
          • B
            • 5+ is inconsistent
            • But game winning if it goes off.
        • Decrepify
          • A+
            • Big debuff
            • Locus lets you put it on 2 units.
            • Low casting cost
            • This will hamstring many heavy hitters in the game
        • Soul Harvest
          • A-
            • Solid choice a front line caster
            • Wish this was in lore of vampires.
  • Casting cost are low, however 2 many spells need additional rolls to make them function.
  • Locus is one of the best Allegiance Abilities in the game.
  • Lore of Vampires is a bit meh, but lore of Deathmages is Very good! Game winning when it goes off.
  • I think you will see the vampires taking the same spells over and over.
  • Manfreed and Nefratata are going to benefit immensely from these spells.
  • Look to stack your debuffs correctly. There are many other ways in the book and to give units -1 to hit and wound. Make sure you understand the combos and bring appropriate spells.
