Hobby Update: Purple Sun of Shyish

One of the big reasons I started playing AOS was because of the beautiful endless spell models. As I was preparing for a local tournament I had an extra 50 points and that was reason enough to break out the Purple Sun and give it some paint.

I will admit I did not read the FAQ on the PSoS, I thought that it just did 2d6 mortal wounds to any big monster. At the tournament I thought I had my opponents Zombie Dragon dead to rights. However my opponent informed me that the FAQ stated I needed to roll a 6 to do those wounds. Well guess what I rolled a 6 and then I got to roll the 2d6 wounds on the Dragon and rolled….. a 1 and 2! Big let down, but still a fun model to see on the board.

Building the PSoS is not hard, it fits together nicely however it is covered in seams and they really stand out. I took the time to milliput all the seams and sand them down best I could. After painting and priming some of them still show, but it is much better than it would have been.
